Gertha (Ulysse) Sanon, 72, of Brockton, passed away Sunday, March 20, 2016 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton.
Born January 9, 1944 in Croix-des-Bouquets, Haiti, she was a daughter of the late Antoine Ulysse and Elise (Joseph) Ulysse. Gertha came to the United States to Boston, MA in 1981. She was a parishioner of the First Brockton Haitian Church. Gertha enjoyed shopping, cooking, and dressing up. Most of all she enjoyed raising and taking care of her children, grandchildren and extended family in Haiti.
She is survived by her children, Claudette Sanon, Berdine Sanon, Guerline Ulysse-Bel-Amour and her husband Esaie Bel-Amour, and Garry Sanon; her former spouse Jean G. Sanon; her grandchildren; Stephanie Germain, Kimberlie Jean-Poix, Kevin Jean-Poix, Antoine Jean-Poix, Jasmyn Sanon, Gabriel Sanon, Tayvon Sanon, and Jayden Sanon; her siblings, Aloude Ulysse, Marie Joslyne Ulysse and Wilmise Zephir. She is also survived by her many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was the sister of the late Yolande Ulysse, Olest Ulysse and Laurette Ulysse.
Funeral Information
Funeral Service will be held in the First Brockton Haitian Church, 940 Main St., Brockton on Saturday, April 2nd at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be held in THE CHURCH on Friday from 6:00PM - 9:00PM.
