IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Gertrude
Deas
June 21, 1968 – September 30, 2025
Geri Deas, 57, of Brockton, Massachusetts, passed away surrounded by her loving family.
Geri's greatest joy in life was her family. She was the devoted mother of Alexandra Barbosa-Deas, Adam Barbosa-Deas, and Gabrielle Deas, and the proud grandmother — lovingly known as "Gigi" — to Mason Deas, Mya Deas, Averi Exilus, Adanis Deas, Maddox Murray, and Ace Deas, all of whom brought her endless joy. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Kaleo, who never left her side.
Born in Cabo Verde and raised in Boston before making her home in Brockton, Geri was the cherished daughter of Matilde Barbosa and the late Manuel Barbosa, and the loving sister of Cecilia Lopes, Celeste Fernandes, and Maria Harris. Geri was a dedicated realtor, known for her commitment to helping families find their homes and for the lasting relationships she built with her clients.
She will be remembered for her warmth, her humor, and the fierce love she carried for her children, grandchildren, and family. Geri had a gift for making those around her feel seen and loved. Her family will always carry memories of her themed parties, tea times, and holiday gatherings. Her favorite place to be was the beach from sun up to sun down, and she was always ready for a road trip. Geri enjoyed having family over for pho night, karaoke, painting, and even short visits that turned into hours of conversation until the sun came up. Her presence will be deeply missed.
Services will be held at Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont Street, Brockton, on October 5th, 2025, from 10am-2pm followed by a celebration of Geri's life at the Whitman VFW. Family and friends are welcome to come together to honor her memory.
Her spirit will live on in the laughter, love, and light she shared with everyone who knew her.
