Online Obituaries Gilda C. (Capozzi) Grosso, 91, of Brockton, passed away Thursday, February 26, 2015 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. She was the wife of the late Alexander J. Grosso, Sr. Born November 24, 1923 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frank Capozzi and Alfonsina (Circi) Capozzi. A lifelong Brockton resident, she graduated from Brockton High School and Cambridge School of Nursing. Gilda was a Registered Nurse who served as a First Lieutenant during WW II in the Philippines and Hawaii. She worked at Brockton Hospital, in private nursing, Director of Nursing at West Acres Nursing Home and a Nurse at Stonehill College. She was a communicant of St. Margarets Parish in Brockton. She was an avid reader and enjoyed knitting. She was devoted to her family and friends. She is survived by her children, Susan G. Anderson of Brockton and Alexander J. Grosso, Jr. and his wife Kim of Raynham; her grandchildren, Jeffrey R. Anderson and Nicole G. Cahill; her siblings, brother Geno Capozzi and his wife Shirley, sister Aida Bishop and sister-in-law Nellie (Occhipinti) Capozzi. As well as several Nieces and Nephews. Funeral Information Following cremation, a Memorial Gathering will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 10th from 4:00-7:00PM followed by a Memorial Service at 7:00PM in the Funeral Home.
