Graylynn was taken suddenly from us on Monday, September 5, 2016. Graylynn Brezzel was born on May 25, 1961 in DuQuoin, Illinois to his late mother Helen Delores Brezzel and his father Peter Meeks. He was their only child. He was given the nickname 'Petey', which only family and close friends knew. Graylynn and his mom moved to Hannibal Missouri where his grandmother, Dorine Chester helped care for him while his mom attended school and worked in St. Louis, Missouri. His grandmother loved and cared for many children which explains Graylynn's love for children and his desire to help them. Graylynn graduated from E. Saint Louis High School. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy and soon after moved to Cambridge, Massachusetts with his mother. His mom was being transferred with her job with the Federal Government. Graylynn attended Roxbury Community College during this time.
Monica Plummer and Graylynn met in the early 80's while working at the Boston Center for the Blind. They got married in January 1986. Monica had children from a previous relationship, Christopher Plummer and Robert Plummer. Graylynn's biological son is Markquise Hill. During their union they adopted Brione Brezzel and Myeisha Brezzel.

After some time he moved to Brockton Mass., where he remained until his death. He was the Lead singer in the group, Soul City. He had an amazing voice and loved to sing. He loved all types of music and loved dancing and entertaining people. He continued his education at UMass Boston, Lincoln Tech Institute and Massasoit Community College. He was intrigued in the medical field which led him to study to become a pharmaceutical technician. In his earlier years Graylynn spent time helping troubled kids and teens in the city of Brockton. He served as a big brother, mentor and father for so many kids. Graylynn was so full of life that his personality was described as 'charismatic'. He always knew how to make one laugh in their darkest moment. He was known for entertaining people wherever he met them. His singing would lead to his new dance moves. When he laughed you couldn't help but to join in because his laugh was contagious. He was a gentleman who allow one to cry on his shoulder. He would give you his last dollar and would skip a meal to make sure you had one. Graylynn always made it his business to give words of wisdom to those that he felt needed guidance. He always made the weakest of people feel strong. He believed that family was very important. He made a lot of friends both in Massachusetts and in Missouri.
