Gregorios Grantsis, 85, of Brockton, passed away Thursday, July 8, 2021 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton. He was the husband of Anastasia (Rizopolou) Grantsis.
Born May 5, 1936 in Kastoria, Greece he was the son of the late Vasilios and Maria (Tsiapas) Grantsis.
Mr. Grantsis went to school in Lachanokipi, Greece and owned family farms in Greece as well. He served in the Greek Army for 18 years.
When he immigrated from Greece he was employed at the Parkway Restaurant and was known as the strongest and toughest man who worked there.
He enjoyed working in his yard, helping his sons at their auto garage and spending quality time with his loving family.
In addition to his wife, Anastasia (Rizopolou) Grantsis, he is survived by his son Vasilios Grantsis; grandchildren, Nicholas, Anastasia, Gregorios, Peter, Stefanie; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Audrina, Gregorios Grantsis, Jr.; and nephew and niece Peter and Diane Dravosikas all of Brockton. He is also survived by many family members and friends in Greece. He was also the father of the late Konstantinos Grantsis.
A private funeral service will be held in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church with private interment in Melrose Cemetery.
