Online Obituaries Gregory Paul Aker, 53 of Easton, beloved husband of Teresa (Gurman) Aker, loving father of Jonathan, Jarad and Julia passed on Monday, October 1, 2012 at Good Samaritan Medical Center. Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Hazel L. (Sparkes) Aker and Elmer G. "Al" Aker. Greg was a graduate of Randolph High School where he played Varsity Basketball and Varsity Tennis. He was a graduate of Bridgewater State College where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry. In his thirty years as an employee of Siemens Healthcare Diagnostics, which included his time with Bayer, Corning and other acquisitions, he held many roles starting as a laboratory technician, manufacturing supervisor, and working his way to his current position as the Director of Global System Support. Greg enjoyed many things about life, most importantly his wife and kids. His past time was spent solving crosswords, watching football, as well as spending time in the kitchen expressing his passion for cooking. Greg is survived by his wife, Teri A. (Gurman) Aker; his children, Jonathan J. Gregory Aker, Jared M. Aker and Julia M. Aker; his sister, Diane Green and her husband Charles; his nephews and nieces, Michael Green and his wife Elise, Julie Mack and her husband Jonathan, Erin Andrews and her husband Scott, Joshua and Kaitlyn Gurman; his great-nieces and nephews, Madeline, Abigail, Dillon and Jaxon. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, October 5th at 9:30AM thence to Holy Cross Parish, 225 Purchase St., South Easton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Furnace Village Cemetery, Easton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Thursday 3:00-7:00PM.
