Obituary

Guy William Belizaire died unexpectedly on Monday, July 6, 2020 in Braintree. Guy was the eldest child of Anthony Belizaire and Anila Pierre Belizaire. Born on June 10, 1949 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, Guy spent many years of his young life as a percussionist in the Holy Trinity Philharmonic Orchestra, where he also played the timpani. While a young man growing up, he attended middle school at the Holy Trinity and completed his baccalaureate at College Saint Pierre. He was later afforded the opportunity to study abroad in America and earned a Diploma from Shasta High School in Redding, CA. Upon returning to Haiti, Guy used his artistic gifting in printing and graphic design. He also taught both English and printing. On March 31, 1979, Guy married Yanick Lindor Belizaire and relocated the family to the United States. After settling in the Greater Boston area, he began a 25 year career as a draftsman for the engineering and construction company Camp, Dresser, McKee (CDM). He later moved to Brockton where he and his family maintained many lifelong friendships. Guy was a man of God, and served many years as a member of St. Paul's Parish of Brockton. He will forever be remembered as a charismatic socialite, a loving husband, an outstanding father and brother, and a mentor to many. He is also remembered as a music lover, an avid reader and a passionate and gifted artist. Guy also found therapy in horticulture and landscaping. Guy is survived by his former spouse Yanick Lindor Belizaire, children Stephan Belizaire, Guy Sebastian Belizaire, Mrs. Valerie Belizaire Griffith and Christopher Belizaire; grandchildren Christopher Belizaire, Jr., Mia Belizaire, Josiah Griffith, Cloudia Belizaire, Cayde Roberto Buenaseda Belizaire and Callie Marie Buenaseda Belizaire; Siblings Mrs. Myrlene Belizaire Charette and children, Mr. Wilder Belizaire and Marie Andre Belizaire and children, Mr. Richard Anthony Belizaire and children, Mrs. Herline Belizaire Zephir and child and Mrs. Judith Belizaire Vilfort and children; many nieces and nephews; cousins Roland Pierre, Pressoir Fils… etc. and a beloved extended family. Calling hours on Friday, July 17th from 12:30-2PM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton, followed by a funeral service in St. Paul's Parish, 701 Pleasant St., Brockton at 2:30PM. All visitors when returning to their cars will please exit the property to allow others to enter. All visitors will be able to greet family members from a safe distance but not able to touch.
