Obituary

Gwendolyn (Berry) Grandison Gwendolyn (Berry) Grandison , 58, of Brockton passed away unexpectedly Saturday, May 17, 2014 at her home. She was the wife of Sammie Lee Grandison. Born July 20, 1955 in Crawfordsville, Arkansas she was the daughter of the late Ella M. and Vaughn Berry. She had been a resident of the state of Massachusetts since 1966. She grew up in the south end of Boston and in the Grove Hall section of Roxbury before moving to Brockton over 20 years ago. She attended the Jeremiah E. Burke School for girls, where she graduated from high school. Gwen was a friend to all of those she came in contact with. When she spoke you just wanted to listen, which catapulted her into many jobs and oppourtunities. With her warm heart and loving spirit she always seemed to find herself helping someone else. She worked at Raytheon in Waltham for several years. But her passion to help someone else was what she enjoyed doing the most. Gwen became a certified nursing assistant and worked in various nursing homes in the Boston area, fulfilling her passion. Gwen became a member of Messiah Baptist Church upon her moving to Brockton. She was very active with the children in the church and was also involved in starting the youth choir using her three youngest children and three grandchildren singing this little light of mine. She was a stay at home mom and opened her own day care. In addition to her husband Sammie Lee Grandison she leaves to mourn her three daughters; Yolanda T. Berry-Neal, Shaquielle E. and Nicole T. Berry; two sons, Sean T. Berry, Sr. and his wife Monique A and Shaquan T. Berry, Sr..; Five grandchildren, Davine J., Sean T., Jr., Jazmine N., Shaquan T, Jr. and Madison A. Berry; Five sisters, two brothers, several step chidren, as well as several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Funeral Information A funeral service will be held on Saturday, May 24, 2014 at 1:00PM in the Messiah Baptist Church, 80 Legion Parkway, Brockton, MA. Interment will be private. Calling hours will be prior to the service from 11:00AM to 1:00PM in the church.
