Harry W. Thibeault, retired Brockton Fire Department, 78 years, of Brockton, died May 9, 2009 at the Brockton Hospital after a brief illness. Husband of the late Ruth E. (Smith) Thibeault. Born, raised and educated in Brockton, he was the son of the late Joseph N. and Leona L. (Poitras) Thibeault. Harry was an Army veteran who served in the Korean Conflict and had been employed by the Brockton Fire Department for 30 years at the Central Station, retiring in 1995. He was an avid bowler and played on the Westgate Pub team, and enjoyed the Boston Red Sox, Patriots and time with his family. Harry was a “Jack of all Trades” who would fix anything and everything for his neighbors, friends and family.
He is survived by his children Deborah J. Butler and her husband William of Brockton, Harry J. Thibeault and his wife Karen of Whitman and Scott E. Thibeault of Brockton; six grandchildren Derick, Dawn Marie, Amanda, James, Daniel and Kevin; two great grandchildren Bradley and Marissa; a brother Robert Thibeault of Brockton, a sister Lorraine Hunt of Carver and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Leona Whalen, Joseph Thibeault and Lea Nunes.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Parish/St. Edward Church at 9am. Burial in Pine Hill Cemetery. Visiting Hours Wednesday 4-7pm.
