PAYTON - Of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, July 24, Helen E. (Burke), age 89. Wife of the late Arthur L. Daughter of the late John J. Burke and Nora (Caulfield). Mother of Henry J. and his wife Donna of East Bridgewater, J. Kevin and his wife Frani of Monument Beach, Noreen M. DeRito and her husband James of Brockton, Sheila of West Bridgewater, and Arthur L., Jr. and his wife Arlene of Pomona, NY. Grandmother of Shawn, Michael, Christopher, Jason, Jeffrey Payton, Scott DeRito, and Colleen Mullen. Sister of the late James, Thomas, John, and Agatha Burke. Also survived by 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews.

Funeral Wednesday, July 28 from J. Frank Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St., (Rte. 123), Brockton at 9:00 AM followed by a Mass at Saint Ann’s Church 95 North Main St., (Rte. 28), West Bridgewater at 10:00 AM. Interment in Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4-8 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers in Helen’s memory maybe made to the John J. Burke, Jr. Scholarship Fund c/o P.O. Box 700 So. Easton, MA 02375.

WEST BRIDGEWATER - Helen E. (Burke) Payton, age 89, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Brockton, died July 24, 2004. She was the wife of the late Arthur L. Born in Brockton to John J. & Nora (Caulfield) Burke, Helen graduated from St. Patrick High School & Brockton Business College as a legal secretary. In 1984 she left Brockton to moved to Matfield Woods in West Bridgewater. She was a communicate at St. Ann’s Church and former communicate at St. Edwards. Mrs. Payton was very active in the Parents Association with St. Edwards School, Cardinal Spellman High School, and Msgr. Coyle High School & a member of the Matfield Woods Association Joy of West Bridgewater, AARP, and Massachusetts Association for the Blind.

She is survived by her children Henry J. of East Bridgewater, J. Kevin of Monument Beach, Noreen M. DeRito of Brockton, Sheila of West Bridgewater, and Arthur L., Jr. of Pomona, NY. Also survived by 7 grandchildren , 5 great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. She was the sister of the late James, Thomas, John, and Agatha Burke.
