Helen Harris Haratsaris Helen (Kapopoulos) Harris Haratsaris, 89, of Brockton, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at West Acres Nursing Home in Brockton after a period of failing health. She was the wife of the late Peter Haratsaris. Born October 27, 1917 in New Bedford, she was the daughter of the late George Kapopoulos and Jennie (Papachristopoulos) Kapopoulos. Raised in New Bedford she attended New Bedford Schools. Helen has been a Brockton resident for over 58 years and was a member of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton where she was a member of the Greek Ladies Philoptochos Society and the Church's Senior Citizens. She enjoyed traveling, baking, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. She is survived by her children, George Harris and his wife Jackie of Arizona and Patricia Giannakoulis and her husband John of Brockton; her grandchildren, Tasha Pavlidis, Peter Giannakoulis, Meleni Dyess, Michelle Hanlon, and Nicole Shambre; her great grandchildren, John, Ashley, Mia, Kayla, Jordan, Alexandra, Sierra, Nicholas, Philip, McKenzie, and Christopher; her brother, Christo Kapopoulos of Falmouth; her sisters, Anna Daley of Fairhaven, and Bessie Cardoza of Florida; she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Joanne Assad and Barbara "Bonnie" Harris. She was the sister of the late Charles, Michael, Nicholas Kapopoulos, and Mary Zevitas. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Monday 10:00AM followed by a funeral service in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton at 11:00AM. Rev. John Kiramarios will officiate. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours will be Sunday 4:00PM-8:00PM.
