Obituary
Helen R. Kearney,82 years died Thursday morning at Norwell Knoll Nursing Home, she was born in Brockton and raised in Brockton, the daughter of the late Michael J. and Helen (Mahoney) Carney. She was a graduate of St. Patrick High School in Brockton. While raising their children the Kearney’s traveled and lived in various places before returning to Brockton in 1973. Mrs. Kearney often volunteered and chaperoned for her children’s school and sporting events. She worked as a clerk for the Main Library in Brockton for 13 years retiring in 1986. Helen will be remembered for her love of cooking, her Irish heritage, her fun vibrant personality and one who enjoyed the company of her family and good friends.
She is survived by her two sons, James A. Kearney, Jr. of Glastonbury, Ct; Michael J. Kearney of Cohasset, a daughter, Sally K. Barber of Cohasset, 11 grandchildren and her former husband James A. Kearney
She was the mother of the late Mary Beth Barnes, and sister of the late, Edward J. and Mary C. Carney, Josephine Keating, Eileen Cure and Teresa Hallisey.
