Helen C. (Russo) Smyth, 83, of Stoughton passed away Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Charlwell House in Norwood. She was the wife of the late officer Thomas F. Smyth, Jr. of the Stoughton Police Department.
Born September 16, 1928 in Stoughton, she was the daughter of the late Emilio Russo and Antonetta (Tedesco) Russo. She was raised and educated in Stoughton. Helen worked for many years for Corcoran Shoe and Barbour Welting Company.
She enjoyed music, movies, painting, dancing, restaurants, Italian food, home cooking and camping.
She was the loving mother of, Janet M. (Smyth) Cowgill and her husband James of Avon, Lorraine A. (Smyth) Bisson and her husband Richard of Stoughton, her loving son with whom she made her home with, Sgt. Robert F. Smyth of the Norfolk County Sheriffs Department; her loving grandchildren, James Cowgill, Jr. of Avon, Linda Bisson Inangelo and her husband Michael of Rockland; her great grandson, Darrien Inangelo of Rockland; her three sisters, Emily Gichel of Raynham, Rose M. Russo of Middleboro and Babe Ann Russo of S. Easton. She was the sister of the late Alfred, Peter, Pat, Edward "Sonny" Russo and Tootsie Russo. She also leaves her companion that she spent all her time with, Mascot Rinty and she also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday at 9:00AM thence to Immaculate Conception Parish, 122 Canton St., Stoughton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:30AM. Interment will follow in Knollwood Memorial park, Canton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Tuesday 2:00-6:00PM.
