IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Helen (Despotopulos)
Wedge
November 7, 1929 – April 20, 2024
Helen (Despotopulos) Wedge, 94, a lifelong resident of Brockton, passed away on Saturday, April 20, 2024, at the Royal Cape Cod Rehabilitation Center in Bourne, Massachusetts. She was the wife of the late Vincent Wedge.
Born in Stoughton on November 7, 1929, she was the daughter of the late John and Stella (Panagotopoulos) Despotopulos. Helen received her high school diploma from Stoughton High School.
Helen was proud of her work in the service industry at various restaurants in Brockton, making friends with the many customers she served and she retired from the radiology department at Good Samaritan Medical Center. In her later years, she enjoyed working on the board and helping with activities at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton, Massachusetts. Helen had a warm smile and kind heart. She made friends easily. The sound of her voice and the love she showed us will be missed.
Helen is survived by her son John Harris; her daughter Marcia Gerson; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Mary Despotopulos (Hyannis, Massachusetts), and brother-in-law, George Anitole (Vienna, Virginia). She is preceded in death by her brother, James Despotopulos, and her sister, Joanna (Despotopulos) Anitole.
An interment will be held on Monday, May 6th at 2:00 PM in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
