Obituary

Helen P. (Smith) Whalen, 84 years of Carver, formerly of Brockton died Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Jordan Hospital. She was the wife of the late William J. Whalen, Jr. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Helen (Grant) Smith. Helen was a 1946 graduate of Brockton High School and had been a household school nurse in Boston. She was a very creative person who enjoyed crocheting, animals, especially cats, and was a Red Sox fan.

She is survived by a son, Thomas B. Whalen of Carver, a daughter AnnMarie Miller of Carver; a brother Frederick Smith of Brockton and was the sister of the late Jack Smith.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Wednesday 10-11am followed by a service at 11am. Burial will be at a later date in Calvary Cemetery.
