Obituary

Herta A. (Mueller) Maher, age 88, of West Bridgewater, formerly of Avon, died March 9, 2012 at Life Care Center of West Bridgewater. She was the wife of the late John P. Maher, Jr. Born in Hof, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Sophie (Huber) Mueller. Herta was raised and educated in Germany and came to the United States in 1959. She had been employed by Russcraft Card Company for 20 years retiring in the mid 1980’s. She was a member of the German Club and enjoyed cooking, knitting, crocheting and travel.

She is survived by a sister in law Catherine Van Hutton of Manassas, VA, a niece Jeanne Reed of Brockton, two nephews Kevin Van Hutton and his wife Ellen of Manassas, VA and Mark Van Hutton, his wife Judy and their son Jake of Stafford, VA. She was the sister in law of the late Mildred M. Reed.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30am, followed by a funeral service at 10:30am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Donations in Herta’s name may be made to the Catherine Spalding House, 179 Summer Street, Brockton, MA 02302.
