Hilton A. "Butch" Bowdridge, Jr., 74, of Brockton, passed away Thursday, April 22, 2021 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital after a brief period of failing health. He was the loving husband of Louise (Petersen) Bowdridge.
Born November 24, 1946 in Malden, he was the son of the late Hilton A. Bowdridge and the late Lillian (Goodwin) Knight and he was the step-son of the late Ralph "Pete" Knight. Raised in Malden, he graduated from Malden High School and studied computer science at Suffolk University and studied Business Administration at Boston State College. He was a former Airman at United States Air Force.
Butch worked for the Unites States Postal Service for 35 years and retired as Postmaster from the Avon Post Office.
He was very active in the Boy Scouts and was a past Scout Master for Troop #5 in Brockton. He was an avid New England Patriots fan but most enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Louise (Petersen) Bowdridge; his children, Scott Bowdridge and his wife Joanne and Nancy Hall and her husband Christopher; he was the grandfather of his cherished granddaughter, the late Katelan Hall; proud grandfather of Brady Hall, Olivia Hall and Mason Bowdridge.
Funeral services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery, West Bridgewater. Calling hours on Thursday from 4:00-7:00PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the American Diabetes Association..
