On the morning of March 18, 2022, Hipolito "Ito" Veiga, 62 years young, passed away peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Brockton. Ito was born in Cova Figuera, Cape Verde on November 29, 1959. He immigrated with his siblings and parents to the United States. Ito was a graduate of Scituate High-school and was an avid soccer player. He played throughout his high school years and adulthood. He enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his granddaughter CC. Ito was the most caring and gentle soul. Each time he entered a room he greeted everyone with the most kind-hearted demeanor. He was a father, a son, a brother, an uncle, a friend, an athlete, a mentor, a confidant, and his greatest role was being a grandfather! Everyone can agree he was always the best dressed in the room. We will remember him by the love he showed us all, and for his love and passion for his favorite teams - Porto, Lakers, and the Cowboys. His parting has left a void in all of our hearts. Let's take the time to fill it remembering all the great memories we shared with him and alongside him. He is Preceded in death by his Father Antonio Henriques Veiga and Mother Antonia Fontes Veiga. He is survived by his siblings Emmanuel Henriques Veiga, Renato Henriques Veiga, Lourença Pires, Luther Henriques Veiga, Beloved Carmencita Veiga Lima, Maria Mendes, Maria Brandao, Ema Barbosa and Valdino Viera Veiga. His two daughters Elizabeth Medina and her husband Patrick Medina and Benita Veiga. His Grand daughter Cecilia Medina. Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, March 23rd followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein Parish, 71 E.
