Hippocrates "Harry" Livanis of Hanover and Vero Beach, FL., and formerly of Saugus, passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020.
Born in New York City on June 14, 1926, he was raised in Athens, Greece and returned to the U.S. at the age of 18.
A successful entrepreneur and businessman, he built several businesses in Massachusetts, including machine shops, tool and die shops and he was involved in real estate.
He enjoyed traveling, cars, and was an avid tennis player. A member of the Greek Orthodox Faith, he attended Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in Brockton and St. Nicholas in Fort Pierce, FL.
Harry is survived by his loving wife of 42 years Catherine Livanis (Nee Anastasiades), daughters Mary Jones and her husband Douglas Jones of Peabody, Elaine Pescatore and her husband John Pescatore of Methuen and brother Perry Livanis and his wife Polyxeni Livanis of Athens, Greece. He also leaves behind six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, six nieces and nephews and five great-nieces and nephews. Harry is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Eleni Livanis, his sister Ionna Exarchos of Athens, Greece and his first wife, Evelyn Andrews Livanis of Saugus.
Calling hours in the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church, 457 Oak St., Brockton on Thursday, August 27th from 9:00AM-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the church at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Hanover Cemetery, Hanover.
