"Honey" Connors

Hyacinth “Honey” E Connors 86, passed away peacefully January 5, 2015 with her children by her side. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Madeline (Hird) Connors. She was a beloved mother, grandmother and devoted catholic. She attended Randolph Schools and graduated from Stetson High School as well as the Boston School of Fine Arts. Honey was a Sunday school teacher and past president of the 20/30 club at the YWCA. She had worked for some time for John Hancock Insurance; where she was also a cover model, and later as a switchboard operator for New England Telephone and Brockton Hospital. Honey was a portrait artist who wrote poetry, loved music, singing attending concerts and modeling. She will be remembered as an advocate for the elderly and disabled and one whom opened her home and heart often becoming a second mother to many. She was a longtime parishioner of St. Margaret’s Church and the Chapel at Westgate Mall.
She is survived by her five children Steven J., Lawrence J., Annie Florio and Nancy Smith all of Brockton and Robert M. Florio of Mansfield; her grandchildren Chelsea, Christopher, Amanda and Aaron; her siblings Mary Whittemore, David Connors, Priscilla Olson and Lorraine Chaipej and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Vincent, John, Raymond “Skippie”, Leo Jr. and Charlie Connors and Rose Smith and former wife to the late Robert F. Florio.
Visiting hours will be in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Friday from 9am to 11:30am immediately followed by a funeral home service. Burial in Titicut Cemetery Middleboro.
