Obituary

I. Inez (Buckley) Hoffman, 97 years, of Brockton passed away on Monday November 9, 2009 at St. Joseph Manor. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the wife of the late Leroy J. Hoffman, mother of Anne Durgin and Carol Valenzuela both of Brockton; Pamela Lewis and her husband Charles of Middleboro; Peter Hoffman and his wife Brenda of Kingston; Geralyn Shaw of New Bedford and the late Claudia Johnson and Stephen Hoffman. Mrs. Hoffman had 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren with numerous nieces and nephews.

She was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late John and Ellen (Buckley) Buckley. Mrs. Hoffman was a graduate of Brockton High School and attended Wellesley School of Nursing. Prior to her marriage she was a governess for various families in Brookline and Cohasset. In later years she worked at the Child Development Center in Brockton. She was a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters and a communicant of St. Edwards Church. Mrs. Hoffman enjoyed knitting and was an avid sports fan.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Thursday at 8am. Funeral Mass in St. Edith Stein Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in her name and sent “in memory” to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Central New England Chapter, 101A First Avenue, Suite 6, Waltham, MA 02451.
