Idella was born to the late Jack Moore and late Tauheedah (Woodfolk) Hasan in Aberdeen, MS on October 12, 1937. She departed from this life on Sunday, August 24, 2025, at 87 years old surrounded by family.

Idella moved to Brockton in 1961, to help her late Sister Anna Tagger, where she met and later married Fred Bester on June 27, 1963. To this union they had 5 children: Fred Bester Jr., Tina Bester, Stacey Bester, Yolanda (Walter) Parsley and Shane (Nancy) Bester. She is the loving grandmother of 12: Lorna DeCareau, Marquise Echeverria, Stefan Parsley, Jordan Bester, Brandon Parsley, Sierra Parsley, Fred Bester III, Xavier Bester, Alexis Bester, Xiomara Parsley, Arianna Parsley and Shane Bester Jr.; and 3 great grands: Quinton, Nathaniel and Kyng.

Idella was preceded in death by her parents and two siblings Clarence Randle and Anna Tagger. She will be lovingly remembered by her siblings; Burnett Perkins, Lateef Hasan, Mary Woods, Christine Mapp, Katie (James) Sultan, Denise (David) McCrossan, Alberta Smith-Galvin, Geraldine (Edward) Scrutchins, Jacqueline Moore, Calvin Moore and Cynthia (James) White and her many nieces and nephews.

Idella was a member of New Life AME Zion Church in Brockton for 47 years where she served on many boards during that time. Idella enjoyed singing and was a member of the choir. She often would joke that she didn't have a singing voice but loved to sing anyways. Idella last worked at Hit or Miss in Stoughton, MA before retiring in 2000 to care for a few of her grandchildren. In addition to spending time with family, Idella was a die-hard Soap Opera fan! If you ever wanted to get her excited just start talking about the current events on the soaps. She also enjoyed watching the Westerns and the Hallmark Channel.

We will surely miss her hugs and kisses, her bright smile that warms your heart knowing she was so happy to see you, her contagious laugh, and words of encouragement.

Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Thursday, September 4th from 9:00AM-11:00AM followed by a funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00AM.  Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton.
