Obituary

Irene J. (Baptista) Daversa, 87 years of Brockton died February 22, 2008 surrounded by her loving family. Beloved wife for 65 years of Anthony D. Daversa. She was born and raised in Stoughton, a daughter of the late Mary (Silva) and John Baptista. Mrs. Daversa attended Stoughton schools and was employed for many years as a clerk for College Town Cleaners in both Brockton and Bridgewater. She enjoyed bowling, cooking and spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her generosity and kindness.

She is survived by her husband, a daughter Pamela and her husband Robert Jones of Bridgewater and a son David A. and his wife Elaine of Lakeville, 4 grandchildren, Tracey Chestnut, Gina McCarthy, Courtney and Ashley Jones, 3 great grandchildren Anthony and Ava Chestnut and Tyler McCarthy, a brother Armand Baptista and a sister Shirley Catalano and her husband John both of Stoughton and her sisters in law Mary Butler and Theresa Allegro and her husband Walter both of Brockton and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Vivian Hughes.

Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Tuesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish/St. Colman Church at 9am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visiting hours Monday 5-8pm.
