Born on June 16, 1921 in Patim, Fogo, Cape Verde she was a daughter of the late Gesofino Fernandes and Teresa Montiero. Irene was raised in Cape Verde and she was a very hard worker. She is survived by her children, Jose Fernandes and his wife Alina, Leonel Pina and his wife Teresa, Maria Fernandes, Audilia and Guilherme Teixera all of Brockton. She is also survived by her 16 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Wednesday, October 3rd at 9:00AM followed by a funeral mass in St. Edith Stein/St. Edward Parish, 71 East Main St., Brockton at 10:00AM.
