Obituary

UPADATED SERVICE TIME Irene M. (O’Connor) McKenzie, age 90, of East Bridgewater, died peacefully in her sleep on December 30, 2023. Irene was the wife of the late John J. McKenzie. Originally from Cork City, Ireland, she was the daughter of the late William F. and Maude (O’Brien) O’Connor.

Irene lived in Brockton prior to moving to East Bridgewater. She worked at Tufts New England Medical Center in the Cytogenetics Department and then at Health Imperatives in the Brockton Court as a SAFEPLAN advocate, assisting domestic violence clients.

Irene was the adored mother of Carol Ann (Irwin) Canducci and the late Eamon/Edmond Irwin and proud grandmother of Garrett I. Canducci, whom she loved dearly and was so proud of, and his wife Rose M. Flanagan. She is also survived by her son-in-law Jerry Canducci, Conor and Mary O’Neill, Frank and Sheila O’Neill, Maeve O’Neill, Jacqueline O’Neill, John and Angela O’Connell, all of Cork, Ireland, as well as Mary O’Neill of Atlanta, GA and the Glynn Family.

A Funeral Mass will be held at Holy Ghost Church, in Whitman on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at 10:30am followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Randolph.
