Ismelle Chaudry Legagneur

Ismelle Chaudry Legagneur, age 83, of Brockton, passed away on April 3, 2026, at Sachem Center for Health and Rehabilitation in East Bridgewater.

Born in Jérémie, Haiti, she was the beloved daughter of the late Thelas and Sidanise Legagneur.

Ismelle was a devoted businesswoman who found joy in music, prayer, and sewing. She was a faithful member of the Church of God in both Haiti and Brockton.

She leaves behind her loving family: her two daughters, Dominique Legagneur-Mathurin and her husband Josué of Orlando, Florida, and Shella Gay Chaudry and her husband Jordanny Gay of Brockton. She was a cherished grandmother to Samuel Jordanny Gay, Jonathan Balthazar, and Grace Mathurin.

She is also survived by her nieces and nephews: Dautruche Legagneur, Cynthia Legagneur, Vilna Legagneur, Johnny Legagneur, Chantal Juste, and Mimose Fregistre; as well as her cousins, Marie Denise Derival and Maryse Zamor.

Her funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at 8:45 AM at the Brockton Church of God, Pleasant Street, Brockton. Visitation will take place from 8:15 AM to 8:45 AM, prior to the service. Interment will follow at Melrose Cemetery.
