Obituary

Jacqueline "Jackie" Edith Bardasz passed away suddenly surrounded by family on Saturday, September 24th at the age of 78. She was born and raised in Boston, MA to Joseph and Teresa Shiner. She grew up dancing on the stage and loved all types of dance, but especially tap. Jackie was a high school graduate of the Jeremiah E. Burke all girls' high school. During her high school years, she met and fell in love with Peter Bardasz. They married in 1965 and were married for 28 years, with Peter's death preceding her.

Jackie began her career after high school at Blue Cross and Blue Shield as a secretary. Jackie and Peter settled in Brockton, MA and after many years children came along. She returned to the workforce after years of raising her children, as a waitress. The majority of her career was at Christo's restaurant in Brockton, MA. She retired after over 25 years.

Jackie was an amazing baker. There would never not be something sweet at the Bardasz home, when someone came to visit. From homemade cakes to candies it was one of her favorite things to do. She personalized each cake for the people she loved on their birthdays, Christmas or just because. She also loved reading, watching "reality" and crime TV shows and hosting all holidays. She would recall wonderful memories filled with laughter and fun of parties with neighbors and friends, but most importantly she loved being with family.

After retiring from Christo's, prior to the birth of her grandchildren she cared for and helped raise two very special young men, Michael and Peter Johnson. When Jackie's grandson Peter III came along, it began a whole new chapter for her. It was just her and her buddy, partners in crime, every day prior to him starting school. Her 2 granddaughters, Alison & Kathryn then made their entrance after a few years. Jackie would travel to Elizabeth's home and stay to help care for and raise her granddaughters. Up until this last year she was with "her girls" every day. Her grandchildren were her life, and she was devoted to them. There was never a day that went by she didn't brag about all 3 of them to whomever she could.

Jackie is survived by her two children, Elizabeth Bardasz of Auburn, MA and Peter Bardasz of Brockton, MA. Her grandchildren, Peter (14); Alison (10) and Kathryn (8). Sister of Joseph "Buster" Shiner of Braintree, Joy Nazarian of New York and the late Anna Mae Shiner, Teresa Shiner, Evelyn Creedon, Dorothy Burr, MaryJane Carney, Raymond Shiner and Marilyn Ruma. Jackie is also lovingly survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as many close friends and extended family. In lieu of flowers please make donations to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
