Obituary

James J. Carrozza James J. Carrozza , 87, of Brockton died Sunday, May 2, 2010 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital with his family by his side after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of Dorothy "Dot" (Champ) Carrozza. Born August 25, 1922 in Brockton, he was a son of the late Pasquale Carrozza and Mary Nicole (Colombo) Carrozza. Raised and educated in Brockton he was a life long resident. He was a World War II Veteran. During the war he was a Seabee in the U.S. Navy attached to a second Marine division seeing action in Okinawa and Siapan. He loved sports and as a young boy played baseball for many city teams and as an adult he also coached. He worked construction for many years and later worked and retired from the U.S. Postal Services. James enjoyed playing cards and golf. He was a member of the Conti Club, Enterprise Club, V.F.W and the Rockland Golf Course. He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Dorothy (Champ)Carrozza of Brockton; his son, James A. Carrozza and his wife Leslie of New Hampshire; his grandson, Mick; and his two sisters, Angelina Melchionda and Lucy Crocker; He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Friday, May 7th at 8:00AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 433 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 9:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Thursday 4:00-7:00PM.
