Middleboro James W. Day, 72, died Friday, June 30, 2017 at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Jim is survived by his beloved wife, Kathy (Sullivan Burrill) Day; his sons, Jeff Burrill and his wife Kim of San Jose, CA, Greg Burill and his wife Melissa of Scituate and his daughter, Julie Willett and her husband Andy of Marshfield; his brothers, Robert and Jack Day and his sister, Nancy Feeney. Jim leaves 10 grandchildren that he absolutely adored, Cooper, Jackson, Riley and Reese Burrill of San Jose, CA., Madison, Declan and Alex Burrill of Scituate, Drew, Cole and Luke Willett of Marshfield.
Born and raised in Leominster, MA, son of the late Melvin and Barbara (Small) Day, Jim raised his family in Easton, MA before retiring to Middleboro, MA. Jim is a Veteran who served honorably in the US Army including a deployment to Vietnam. Jim spent many years as a successful salesman and finished his career with the US Post Office before retiring.
Jims lifelong passion was his family. A devoted husband to Kathy and father to his three children, Jim delighted in watching his children and grandchildren participate in sports and their school events.
Funeral Information
A funeral service will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 South Main St.,(Rt.28) WEST BRIDGEWATER, MA on Thursday, July 6th at 11:00AM. Interment will be at a later date in the Massachusetts VA National Cemetery, Bourne. Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 4:00 to 7:00PM ,
