James J. Donahue Jr., 63 years of Brockton died Wednesday March 11, 2009 at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center. Jim was the husband of Peggy A. (Colender) Donahue. Born in Stoughton and raised in Needham, he was the son of the late James J. and Marjorie M. (McDonald) Donahue. Jim was a graduate of Needham High School, Boston College and Suffolk Law School. He took and passed the Massachusetts Bar in 1972. He was an Army Veteran and received the National Defense Service Medal. Jim proudly served our country during the time of the Vietnam War. He was a partner with his dad and then later owned the former Donahue Truck Service in Stoughton, working with the company for 35 years. Following the closing of the trucking business Jim worked for 10 years for Metro Package Delivery in Boston.
He enjoyed reading, working in the garden and good conversation. He will be remembered as a wonderful husband and grandfather. Jim was a gentleman with a strong work ethic and a person who enjoyed the simple things in life.
He is survived by his wife Peggy (Colender) Donahue; his children James J. Donahue III of NY, Christina M. Saltmarsh of Taunton and David P. Donahue of SC; his sister Jane Murphy of Falmouth and the late Martha Starbird; and his 5 grandchildren.

Christ The King Parish
