Obituary

James Douglas “Dougie” Ortiz, 19 years, of Brockton, died August 12, 2011. Born May 14, 1992 in Stoughton, he was the son of Raymond Ponder and Dimariz (Perry) Ortiz. Dougie was raised in Brockton and was a 2010 graduate of Southeastern Regional Vocational-Technical High School. Dougie who always had a smile on his face, enjoyed playing basketball and was on the school’s basketball team for four years..

He is also survived by his brothers Donte Ortiz and David Mendes, a sister Dimary Ortiz, a nephew Donte Ortiz, Jr., his maternal grandmother Charlotte Robbins and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was the grandson of the late James and Ruth Ponder.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton Monday 5-8pm. Funeral Service in the funeral home Tuesday at 10am. Burial in Melrose Cemetery.
