James S. Eaton, Sr., 76, of East Bridgewater, passed away Friday, September 14, 2018 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Maryanne (Tosca) Eaton for 56 years. Born March 7, 1942 in Milford, he was the son of the late Harris Eaton and Bertha (Svirsky) Eaton. Raised in the Village section of Brockton, he graduated from Brockton High School in 1960. Jimmy was a Brockton Police Department Narcotics Detective and retired in 2000 after serving for over 35 years. He was an avid sports fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots. He enjoyed golfing and boating. He was an honorary member of the Bertocci Memorial Club in Brockton and a member of the Brockton Police Relief Association. He is survived by his wife, Maryanne (Tosca) Eaton; his sons, James S. Eaton, Jr. and his wife Terry, David M. Eaton, Brian E. Eaton and his wife Janice and Kevin S. Eaton and his wife Laurie-Lee; his grandchildren Jill A. Eaton, Lisa E. Moniz and her husband Mark Moniz, Brian E. Eaton, Jr., Jordyn P. Eaton and Mikayla M. Eaton; his great-grandchildren, Anthony J. Vitale and Natalie Grace Moniz. He was the brother of the late Janice Eaton. Funeral services will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Friday, September 21st at 11:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
