James M. Flynn, 79, formerly of Easton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2025 after a brief illness with his family by his side. He was the husband of Patricia "Patsy" (McGuire) Flynn.

Born June 19, 1946, he was the son of the late William L. and Mary E. (Tierney) Flynn. James attended Oliver Ames High School and joined the United States Marine Corps serving during the Vietnam War.

James worked as an agent for the Department of Revenue before retiring.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, gardening and especially the Patriots. As a Marine he delivered Toys for Tots at Christmastime for many years. He was an avid cook and enjoyed afternoons by his pool cooking for friends and relatives. He also enjoyed his coffee hour with his brothers and friends at Dunkin Donuts in Easton on a regular basis. His second home was Freeport, Bahamas where he loved his Freeport friends and second family. He mostly enjoyed being everyone's driver in Uncle Lenny's truck.

In addition to his wife, Patsy, James is survived by his children William Flynn and his wife Julie of West Bridgewater, Kellie (Flynn) Smith and her husband Dickie Smith, Jr. of Bridgewater, and Bobby Flynn and his wife Laura of Hanson; his grandchildren, Hannah Flynn, Grace Flynn, Abigail Flynn, RJ Flynn, Dylan Smith and Kylee Smith and her fiancé Michael Morency; his great-grandson Maverick Morency; his siblings, Alyce Whalen, Sheila McCorkle, and Susan Casey; and several nieces and nephews. James was also the brother of the late William Flynn, Jack Flynn, Karen Meade, and Minnie Flynn; and uncle of the late Deven Clukey and Bobby McGuire.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 5th at 8:30 AM in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 441 S. Main St., West Bridgewater, followed by interment in Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne at 10:15 AM. Calling hours Thursday, December 4th from 2:00-6:00 PM.
