James Vincent Vinnie Hallisey, 80, of Brockton and Fort Myers, Florida, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2014 after a courageous battle with Pancreatic Cancer. He was the loving husband of Sheila L. (Fenton) Hallisey.
Born August 7, 1934 in Brockton, he was the son of the late Atty. William F. Hallisey and Beatrice (Clark) Hallisey. A lifelong Brockton resident he graduated from Brockton High School and served in the National Guard in 1960.
Vinnie was the owner and operator of Travelers Gas in West Bridgewater for 30 years. He enjoyed reading biography and history books. He also enjoyed traveling, especially to Ireland. He was a big fan of College Football and the New England Patriots. Vinnie loved spending time with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Sheila L. (Fenton) Hallisey of Brockton and Fort Myers, FL; his sons, Vincent T. Hallisey of Fort Myers, FL and Brendan W. Hallisey of Bridgewater; his sister-in-law, Maureen Fenton; he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Eileen Sullivan, Dr. William Hallisey and T. Clark Hallisey.

Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Monday, September 29th at 9:00AM thence to St. Anns Church, 103 North Main St., West Bridgewater where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Melrose Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home Sunday 4:00-7:00PM.
