Meehl of Plymouth; Pamela J. Hayes of Brockton; James G. MacDonald, Jr. of Cambridge; Margaret S. Findlay of Abington; Sean P. MacDonald of Seattle, WA. and Tina M. Rubacka of St. Augustine, FL. Brother of Margaret A. MacDonald of Boston and the late John A. MacDonald. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and his friend of many years Evelyn Norris.
Funeral Service in the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Monday at 10am. Burial in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting Hours Sunday 3-7pm. In memory of James donations may be made to the Salvation Army, 216 Centre St., Brockton, MA 02301, or Hospice of Greater Brockton, 500 Belmont St. Brockton, MA 02301.
Obituary Information
James G. MacDonald, Sr. 80, of Brockton died November 2, 2004 at his home after a brief illness. He was the husband of the late Phyllis I. (Lamb) MacDonaldBorn and raised in Boston, son of the late Alexander and Annie Leoata (O’Melia) MacDonald. He was a veteran of WWII, who served in the US Army.
Mr. MacDonald worked for over 35 years for the First National and Edwards Food Stores in Boston. He also worked evenings for the Beef and Ale Restaurant in downtown Boston. Upon retirement he was a school bus driver for Blue Hills Regional High School. He enjoyed watching The History Channel, following professional sporting events; especially his beloved New England Patriots.
He is survived by his children Gertrude L. McAdams of Dania Beach, FL; Patricia A. Meehl of Plymouth; Pamela J. Hayes of Brockton; James G. MacDonald, Jr. of Cambridge; Margaret S. Findlay of Abington; Sean P. MacDonald of Seattle, WA. and Tina M. Rubacka of St. Augustine, FL, 8 grandchildren, one sister Margaret A. MacDonald of Boston, and his friend of many years Evelyn Norris.He was the brother of the late John A. MacDonald.
