James "Jim" Romp, 73, of Taunton passed away on Tuesday, August 30, 2022 at the Good Samaritan Medical Center in Brockton after a lenghthy illness. He was the loving partner of Jean Paglierani.
Born on May 17, 1949 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he was the son of the late Donald and Grace Romp.
In addition to his partner Jean, Jim is survived by his daughters Kimberly Wilke and her husband Jeremiah of Las Vegas, NV and Natalie Gooding and her husband Christopher of Milwaukee, WI; his grandchildren Olivia, Devin, D.J., Brandon, Gabrielle, Tyler, Shea, Noah and Nevaeh; additional family members and friends in both Massachusetts and Wisconsin. Jim was predeceased by his daughter Tiffany Brown and brother John Romp.
Prior to retirement, Jim worked for many years as a fundraiser for various agencies. After taking care of his mother during an illness, he decided to become a CNA and worked in an assisted living home. He was a kind person who would offer his time and help to anyone who needed it.
Jim was a huge football fan (collegiate and professional) and would watch every possible game on the weekends favoring both the Packers and the Patriots. He loved the beach, daily workouts at the gym, cooking, and the occasional bowling and fishing.
His family would like to thank the staff at Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care given him over the past two years. Special thanks to nurses Taylor and Melissa for helping Jim during his last few weeks and making him as comfortable as possible.
Following cremation, a memorial mass will be held at St. Ann's Church, 675 N. Main St., Raynham on Monday, October 3rd at 10:00 AM.
