Tarpey, of W. Bridgewater, March 15, 2005, James W. Tarpey, 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Olga P. (Phillips) Tarpey. Loving father of James W. Tarpey, Jr and his wife Stephanie of Goshen, NY and Joanne Londa and her husband John of Lunenburg, MA. Grandfather of Tara and Brandon Tarpey and Christopher and Patrick Londa. Loving companion of Alice Moore of Easton.

Funeral Service in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton Friday at 9:45am. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery at 11:30am Visiting Hours Thursday 2-4 and 6-8pm.

Obituary

Mr. Tarpey died Tuesday at Caritas Good Samaritan Medical Center after a brief illness. Born and raised in Brockton, son of the late Martin and Nora (Hopkins) Tarpey, he was a graduate of Brockton High School, class of 1937. He was an Army veteran of WWII who served for the duration of the war with the 712th Tank Battalion and received the Bronze Star. For over 30 years he had been employed by Brockton Taunton Gas Company retiring in 1979.

He was an avid walker, enjoyed outings to the racetrack, day trips to Plymouth and was an active community member of Matfield Woods.

He is survived by one son James W. Tarpey, Jr and his wife Stephanie of Goshen, NY, one daughter Joanne Londa and her husband John of Lunenburg, MA, four grandchildren Tara and Brandon Tarpey and Christopher and Patrick Londa, several nieces and nephews and his companion Alice Moore of Easton. He was the brother of the late Mary Shealey and Margaret Ekberg
