Jane M. Creedon, 73, of Brant Rock and Brockton, unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at the South Shore Hospital. Jane was stricken seriously ill on March 17th and had been slowly recovering at Life Care Center in Scituate.
Born December 22, 1939 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late John J. Creedon and Lauretta (Mackin) Creedon. After graduating from Brockton High School in 1957, she earned both a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Education degree from Bridgewater University.
A lifelong elementary school teacher, Jane retired from Memorial Park School in Rockland where she taught for more than 30 years. Jane had also taught in Long Island and Southern California before returning home to join the Rockland school system.
Both before and during her retirement, Jane enjoyed traveling with family and school associates. Her travels included numerous cruises with school associates and several to Europe with family. She especially enjoyed her trips to Ireland. As much as she enjoyed her trips, the joy of her life were her numerous nieces and nephews living locally, in New York, and Southern California. "Aunt Jane" treasured them as if they were her own and cherished every minute with them.
Jane leaves her twin sister, Margaret J. Cahill and her husband John of Scituate and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Mary and brothers, David, John, and Edward Creedon.
Funeral Information
Family and friends are welcome to gather on Saturday, July 27th at St. Ann by the Sea Church, 591 Ocean St, Marshfield where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 10:00AM. Interment will follow at Holy Family Cemetery, Rockland. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home on Friday from 4:00-7:00PM.
