August 10, 1948 – January 27, 2025
With great sadness we announce the death of Jane Fitts after a brief illness. Jane passed on January 27, 2025, at the age of 76.
Born in Brockton, Daughter of Richard and Santina Allen, Jane is survived by her loving husband of 56 years Richard, her children Richard, Christine and Jennifer, her twin sister Jean, her sister Cynthia, and predeceased by her sister Judith Lincoln. Also survived by her 7 grandchildren; Shayla, Keith, Dante, Rizani, Liana, Sophia and Antonio, 3 great grandchildren: Zoey, Nola and Koda; Brothers in-law: Joseph Sheffer, John and Michael Fitts; Sisters in-law Barbara, Sandra, Diane, Linda, Kathleen, Cheryl, and Patrice. Daughter in-law Jacqui Fitts, Son In-Law Allen Dowling, and Countless Nieces and Nephews are also mourning her passing.
Jane was known for her love of and dedication to her family, and a warm, kind nature towards everyone she met. It was well known that Jane had a loving heart and accepted all walks of life, and made everyone feel a sense of comfort with her soft and loving demeanor. Her and Richards home was a place of welcome and love, where countless friends and family would find comfort in food, music, unconditional love and sharing of memories.
Jane worked for over 20 years as a Para-Professional at the Arnone school in Brockton, where she was known for her incredible ability to connect with and support the toughest and most challenging kids. She extended her teaching gift beyond retirement, giving daily lessons in reading and math to her great grandchildren. Jane had a wonderful fondness for the simple things, old movies, music (Elvis), traditional Italian food, and family get-togethers. She will be dearly missed.
Following Cremation, A Memorial Mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul on Tuessday, February 11th at 10:30 AM in Christ the King Parish, 54 Lyman St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, February 10th in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., Brockton from 4:00-7:00 PM.
