Obituary

Janice M. (Walsh) Joy age 66 of Brockton died September 19, 2014 at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center. She was the loving and devoted wife of Charles R. “Chuck” Joy. Janice was born in Dighton and raised in Taunton a daughter of the late Henry and Lucille (Niles) Walsh and had lived in Brockton for the past 7 years.
Janice was a graduate of Taunton High School and had been a lunch room assistant for Fairhaven schools, an EMT and a foster mother. She enjoyed sewing and had been very active in various local churches. Most of all, Janice enjoyed helping people.
In addition to her husband Janice leaves her children Dana Oliver of Fairhaven, MA., Julie Lewis of Cape Cod, MA , Daniel Lewis of New Bedford, MA. Steven Lewis of Brockton, MA and her foster daughters Heather Shiner of Winthrop,MA and Connie Pinto of Pensacola, FL. She also leaves grandchildren Kristen, Cory, Ryan, Billy, Alicia, Brianna, Felisha, Rebekah, Christian, Troy, DJ, Dakota, and Connie; also, great grand daughter, Madison. She was the sister of the late Carol Padelford who was the wife of Albert Padelford of Troy, Maine. She also leaves nephew Scott and his wife Jen Padelford and their two children Seth and Ashley.
A memorial service will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (rte. 123) Brockton on Sunday October 19, 2014 from noon to 3pm.
