Online Obituaries Janice Walker, a longtime resident of Brockton died on Monday the 12th of June at the Good Samaritan Hospital. Born in 1939 in Brooklyn, NY, a daughter to William Shields and Edith Shields. She married her first love Richard Harris, a US Navy man and had four children. Judy Ellen Harris, Richard Harris, David Harris and Kenneth Harris. Judy Ellen, Richie and Kenny survive her along with their children Robert & Joshua McCulloch, Jennifer Harris, Melissa Monds, and Amanda Harris. In addition to her grandchildren, she is survived by many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She is one of seven children, survived by five sisters Joyce Riva, Judy Betancourt, Nancy Harris, Mary Ann Sena, and Ann Marie Shields. Her son David Harris and her brother Danny Harris preceded her in joining our Lord. She retired from the city of Brockton after many years of working in the school cafeterias. Passionate about those who serve their country, she was a dedicated volunteer in the Womens Auxiliary in Brockton. In addition to this, she volunteered at the Good Samaritan Hospital where she met her current love and husband Paul Walker. After years of surviving their spouses, Janice and Paul enjoyed the gift of love and companionship. They married in 2009 and honeymooned in Ireland. She loved to travel, and was known to start up conversations with total strangers. With her vivacious, extremely outgoing, & loving spirit, our loss is truly Heavens gain. Let us all remember her contagious laughter, it was a gift to all who were blessed to know her. Funeral Information Funeral from the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Saturday, June 17th at 8:30AM thence to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton where a funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of her soul at 9:30AM.
