Obituary

Jared M. Hancock, 39, of Framingham and formerly of Brockton, died Sunday, March 20, 2022, as a result of injuries sustained in a fall in his home. Born March 10, 1983, in Brockton, he was the beloved son of Maurice F. Hancock and Deborah (Danksewicz) Hancock. Raised in Brockton, he graduated from Brockton High School in 2001 where he played in the Brockton High School Jazz Band, Concert Band and Marching Band. He then went to Salem State College and then UMASS Lowell. Jared served in the United States Army and he played in the Army National Guard Jazz Band. Jared had a successful music and video production career that spanned close to 2 decades. In 2003, he and his then college roommate founded Surefire Recording Studios in their apartment living room. In 2005, he co-founded Surefire Music Group in Lowell, Ma. As the CEO, his company worked with the likes of Under Armour, Reebok, Wal-Mart, Nickelodeon, MTV, Def Jam, Bad Boy, Rick Ross, Neyo, Bebe Rexha, Brooke Hogan, Missy Elliot, Hayley Griffiths and countless others. In 2012, his company received national recognition, a Grammy nomination and multiple accolades for producing/ engineering the album "Angel and Chanelle" by the legendary Gospel group Trini-i-tee 5:7. He was a talented musician and songwriter who composed music performed by the Boston Pops and his artists, The Varsity Girls, at symphony hall. Jared also performed at Carnegie Hall with longtime collaborator John Michael Williams. He later co-founded Surefire Creative Studios; a music and video production company. As CEO, he worked with his team to produce content for Puma, Netflix, Unifirst, B&H video, Love-pop, the Verano Group, Logan Airport, Michael Flatley, David Ortiz and many more. Jared enjoyed music and playing the trombone and piano. He was talented in magic and would donate his time to local charities. He also enjoyed skiing, baseball, soccer, basketball and football. He was a member of the Masons of Lowell. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his loving children, Zoey Pereira, Alina Pereira, Dariya Hancock, Mila Hancock, Aleksander Hancock;his wife and their mother, Ekatherina Perreira Hancock; his sisters, Courtney Haig and her husband Ryan and Julie Stande and her husband Shane; his nephews, Christian, Luke, Benjamin and Carter: His grandmother, Phyllis (Plouffe) Hancock; He is also survived by several cousins and many friends around the world. He was the grandson of the late Maurice Hancock, Alfred Danksewicz and Marie (Ternullo) Danksewicz. Calling hours in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Wednesday, March 30th from 3:00-8:00 PM. A funeral mass will be celebrated for the repose of his soul on Thursday, March 31st at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 439 West St., Brockton. Interment will be private.
