Jean P. Kelly, 80, of Brockton, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2013 at the Kindred Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Stoughton.
Born September 8, 1932 in Abington, she was the daughter of the late John J. Kelly and Pauline (Wismont) Kelly. Raised in Brockton she graduated from Brockton High School in 1951.
Jean had worked at St. Joseph Manor Nursing Home in Brockton and also for Foot Joy Shoe Company.
Miss Kelly was well known as a singer and sang at the Golden Pleasant Nightclub in Berkley from 1952 to 1959 and also sang at various Boston Night Clubs.
She started her sing career along with her late sister, Diane Boynton, as teenagers, on Brockton Radio Station W.B.K.A on a program called "Teen Time on Parade".
Jean was also affiliated with the Cape Area Chapter of Muscular Dystrophy Association of America, and was Public Health Education and Public Relations Chairman and on the Executive Committee from 1968 to 1971.
Jean was also affiliated with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Rehabilitation Commission and General Relief/Aid for Dependent Children Program.
She was a communicant of St. Casimir Church in Brockton and a member of Ireland's Own of Brockton and The Stoughton Irish American Club. She enjoyed embroidery, music, traveling and loved caring for children.
She is survived by her siblings, John B. Kelly of Bridgewater, Alan F. Kelly of Brockton, Sheila A. Taxiera of Brockton, Andrea L. Belanger of Foxboro and the late Diane Boynton; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.

Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123)Brockton on Tuesday, May 28th from 10:00AM-12:00PM followed by a funeral service at 12:00PM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton.
