Obituary

Jean Ann (Augenti) Pechilis, of Abington, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 26, 2020 at Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital from complications of pneumonia and kidney disease. Born in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Carlo Augenti and Mary (Nunes) Augenti, and former wife of the late James K. Pechilis. Jean was a 1956 graduate of Brockton High School and went on to attend Brockton Business School. She held many secretarial and bookkeeping jobs, and was retired from Knapp Shoes in Brockton, where she worked for 20 years. Jean was a tough cookie despite her battle with M.S. throughout adulthood, and always had a smile on her face. She volunteered for the Green Street Playground in Abington, was a Campfire Girls leader, and always had an abundance of neighborhood children in her yard. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, listening to music, and watching Jeopardy, Gunsmoke, and other classic shows. Jean was a loving mother, and her greatest pride was in cooking and enjoying time with her family, especially her grandsons, the loves of her life. Jean was predeceased by her sister Eleanor Silva and brothers Charles Augenti, Robert Augenti, and Henry Augenti. She is survived by her daughter Demitra Pechilis and her companion Shawn of Abington and her daughter Marybeth Kelcourse and her husband Jim of Whitman. She was the beloved grandmother of James C. Kelcourse and Matthew Kelcourse and is also survived by many dear cousins, nieces, and nephews.
