IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Jeannette M. (El-Khoury)
Haikal
December 1, 1938 – April 19, 2023
With profound sadness we announce the passing of our beloved and devoted mother, Jeannette M. (El-Khoury) Haikal, 84, of Brockton, on Wednesday, April 19, 2023, at the Good Samaritan Medical Center.
Born December 1, 1938, in Nabay, Lebanon, she was the wife of the late Haikal K. Haikal, of Bsalim, Lebanon, and beloved daughter of the late Mikael N. El-Khoury and Marie P. (Salemeh) El-Khoury. (Nabay, Lebanon).
Jeannette devoted her life to her husband and to raising her children. She lived a full life, and at retirement she lovingly cared for her late husband.
She was proud that her mother, Marie, was born in Wheeling, West Virginia. In 1972, Jeannette and her family immigrated to the United States. She never forgot her homeland and heritage, which she instilled in her children and grandchildren. She also set an example of strong work ethics while she worked as a skilled seamstress for the International Ladies Garment Corp. She felt a sense of accomplishment when all her children graduated college. Her family, including her grand-children, nieces and nephews, here and in Lebanon, remember her as a loving and caring "Tayta", aunt and cousin.
She is survived by her three children; Claude H. Guiney and her husband James R., Michael H. Haikal and his wife Paula and her grandchildren, Michael K. Haikal and Christian J. Haikal; her daughter Salma H. Haikal; her brother, Farid M. El-Khoury and his wife Dima; she is also survived by many nieces, nephews and extended family. All of them she loved deeply. She will be terribly missed and will be remembered eternally in our hearts and lives.
Please join us to celebrate her life at a funeral service of the divine liturgy at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, April 25th in St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 N. Main St., Brockton. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Visiting hours will be held on Monday, April 24th in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt.123) Brockton from 4:00-7:00 PM.
Friends, wishing to honor her, are invited to send flowers or donations to St Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 N. Main St, Brockton, MA 02301
