Jeannette P. (Creeden) Kelleher, 81, of East Falmouth and formerly of Brockton, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was the loving wife of Robert Kelleher.
Born July 12, 1933 in Brockton, she was the daughter of the late Henry Creeden and Germaine (Boncel) Creeden. Raised on the Eastside of Brockton, she graduated from Brockton High School in 1951. Jeannette met the love of her life, Robert Kelleher as Junior High School sweethearts and were together for 7 years before being married for 61 years.
Jeannette was a Special Needs Teacher Assistant for 30 years. She worked 10 years at the Raymond Elementary School, 10 years for Clancy Real Estate and 20 years at the East Falmouth Elementary School. She has been a resident of East Falmouth for the last 20 years.
Jeannette was a CCD assistant at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Bridgewater, a community volunteer, cross country skier, Stonehill College Official Mascot in 1943 to 1953. She was a singer and dancer for the Brockton Teachers Association Variety show for many years. Jeannette was a volunteer for the Grey Ladys for the Brockton VA Hospital. She also enjoyed playing scrabble, walking on the beach and visiting Clearwater, Florida and Rockport, Maine. Robert and Jeannette were involved in many years of fundraising for St. Edward School.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her 9 children, Kate Kelleher, Bobbi Altimas and her husband Brian, Jay Kelleher, Laurie Cryder, Michael Kelleher and his wife Liz, Kristen Medeiros and her husband Jimmy, Jayne Kelleher, Colette Dolloff and her husband Wayne and Brian Kelleher and his wife Lori; her grandchildren, Jay William Kelleher and his fianc Johanna, Justin Kelleher and his wife Holly, Adam Altimas, Jessica Fahey and her husband Liam, Amanda Cryder Husak and her husband Charlie, Kelsey Altimas, Jared Kelleher, Hannah Dolloff, Michael Medeiros, Haley Dolloff, Zachary Dolloff, Megan Kelleher, Jake Medeiros, Riley Kelleher and Jayson Kelleher; her great-grandchildren, Harper and Jameson Kelleher. She also leaves Spencer and Dexter, her loving dogs. She was the sister of the late Harold Creeden who died in World War II where he received the Purple Heart and Silver and Bronze Medal for bravery in the US Navy. Jeannette was a loving best friend to all of her family.
Funeral Information
Calling hours will be held in the Russell & Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (Rt123) Brockton on Sunday, June 7th from 2:00PM-5:00PM. A graveside service will be held in St. Mary Cemetery, 245 North St., Randolph on Monday at 12:00PM.
