Jeannette M. Saba
Jeannette M. (Colell) Saba, 81, of West Bridgewater and formerly of Brockton, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2010 at the Signature Healthcare Brockton Hospital. She was the beloved wife of the late Philip J. Saba Sr.
Born March 17, 1928 in Dover, New Hampshire, she was the daughter of the late Peter Colell and Annie (Kamel) Colell. Raised in Dover, New Hampshire, she attended Dover Schools.
Shortly after being married, Jeannette worked at the family business, Saba's Open Air Market on Centre Street in Brockton. Jeannette and her husband devoted much of their time to the Eastside Improvement Association, as well as many political and charitable events in the Brockton area. Jeannette was a very active communicant of St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church in Brockton where she and her husband helped start St. Theresa's Bingo.
She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and entertaining for her family and friends.
She is survived by her loving children, Philip J. Saba, Jr., of Brockton, James J. Saba and his wife Bridget of Franklin, and Pamela A. Thorburn and her husband Shawn of West Bridgewater; her grandchildren, Caitlin and Caleigh Saba, Shawn and Derek Thorburn; her sister, Lorraine Haley of Dover, NH; her sisters-in-law, Evelyn Saba of Brockton and Carol Murray of Taunton, and brother-in-law Paul of Clinton, Maine, she is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late Michael, Joseph, James Colell, Madeline Dupont, Emily Timmons, Angelina Buckley, and her twin sister, Mary Virginia Kamel.

Funeral from the Russell Pica Funeral Home, 165 Belmont St., (RT123) Brockton on Wednesday, January 20th at 9:00AM thence to St. Theresa Maronite Catholic Church, 343 North Main St., Brockton where the Service of the Devine Liturgy will be celebrated at 10:00AM. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Brockton. Calling hours in the Russell Pica Funeral Home Tuesday 4:00-8:00PM.
