Hopkins, of Brockton, January 8, 2005, Joan L. (Harrington) Hopkins, 77 years. Wife of the late Albert E. Hopkins. Mother of John Hopkins and his wife Suk of Attleboro; grandmother of Susan Hopkins.

Funeral from the J. Frank Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street, (Rte 123) Brockton, Wednesday at 8am. Funeral Mass in Christ the King Parish (formerly St. Colman Church) at 9am. Burial in Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne, at 11:15am. Visiting Hours Tuesday 4-7pm. In lieu of flowers donations in Joan’s name may be made to the American Lung Association, 1 Abby Lane, Middleboro, MA 02346.

Obituary Information

Mrs. Hopkins died Saturday at the Brockton Hospital after a lengthy illness. Born and raised in Quincy, she was a daughter of the late James G. and Lillian M. (McGilvray) Harrington. A graduate of Quincy High School, she had been employed by the State Street Bank, Boston, various local banks in Brockton and was a former employee of the Patriot Ledger. She had been a resident of Brockton since 1972.

She is survived by her son John Hopkins and his wife Suk of Attleboro, one granddaughter Susan and many nieces and nephews. She was the sister of the late J. Fred Harrington and Virginia Durkin.
