Obituary

Joan M. (Soucy) (Rolfe) Newton, age 84, of Hobe Sound, FL, died July 24, 2018 at Tufts Medical Center after a brief illness. Joan was the wife of the late Frank C. Rolfe and George P. Newton, Jr. Born and raised in Hyannis, she was the daughter of the late Alcibiade and Almena (Rogers) Soucy. She was a graduate of Barnstable High School and was employed for 38 years at New England Telephone Company retiring as Manager of Operator Services. Joan’s life was centered around her five children, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. She enjoyed winters in Hobe Sound, FL and summers at her daughter Tracey’s home in Plymouth. Joan also enjoyed bingo, making jewelry and arts and crafts.

Joan was the mother of Scott Rolfe of Taunton, Jay Rolfe of Bridgewater, Tracey Tirrell of Plymouth, Terri Chubbuck of Berkley and Dana Rolfe of West Bridgewater; grandmother of Brian, Paul and David Rolfe, Danielle and Lindsey Chubbuck, Katie, Melanie, Kelly Rolfe and the late Shane Rolfe, and great grandmother of Olivia and Matthew Rolfe. She was the sister of Carol Drinkwater of WI, and the late Raymond, Paul and Robert Soucy and Alice Rogers.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Sunday 12-3pm followed by a funeral service at 3pm.
