Obituary

Joana “Mariazinha” (Branco) Sabino, of Brockton, died peacefully June 24, 2021 at the age of 98. She was the wife of the late Jose Sabino. Joana was born and raised in Sao Miguel, Portugal, daughter of the late Gil Moniz and Aurora (Tavares) Branco. She was educated in Madeira Portugal, and prior to moving to the United States in 1972, she was a Nurse and Midwife in the town of Sao Mateus.

When Joana came to the United States, she raised her family and for over 20 years worked in the manufacturing industry. She was dedicated to her family and enjoyed cooking, sewing and spending time with them. She in return was loved and adored by them all.

Joana was the mother of Fernanda Pelletier and her husband Mark of Bridgewater, Ana Maria Ferreira and her husband Jose of Rockland, Gisa Donnellan of Hingham and Joe Barcelos of Belchertown. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Tuesday, June 29, 10-11am followed by a Funeral Service at 11am. Joana will be buried in Mt. Prospect Cemetery, Bridgewater.
